Laser Facial Vein Treatment

Laser Facial Vein Treatment

Facial vein treatment with lasers and pulsed light can improve skin texture and tone, and remove imperfections such as vascular lesions (the superficial blue, red or purple veins) under the skin's surface.

What does laser facial vein treatment involve?

During this quick, easy procedure, a physician will move a laser or pulsed-light hand piece over the affected area. The hand piece emits a light that coagulates the blood in the blood vessel and essentially "welds the vessel closed." Treatment takes a few minutes, depending on the number of blood vessels, and it requires no anesthetic.

What can I expect after treatment?

Virtually all visible veins, or vessels on the face disappear immediately at the time of treatment. Occasionally, some vessels require a few days to completely disappear. Rarely, some vessels require a second "touch-up" treatment approximately one month later. Some patients occasionally observe mild, temporary redness and swelling, similar to sunburn, in the treated area. These effects usually subside within a few days.

Understanding Wrinkles

Most wrinkles appear on the parts of the body where sun exposure is greatest, including the face, neck, the backs of the hands, and the tops of the forearms. Wrinkles can be categorized as fine surface lines or deep furrows. While deep furrows may require injection of fillers or plastic surgery, other less aggressive treatments are effective on fine surface lines.
